Skin Care Routine

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

I am going to be 100% honest with you guys…skin care was NEVER  important to me. Probably until about 6 months ago I used Green Dove Bar Soap as my face wash. I mean I am not going to lie, it works! Then I started realizing that I am getting older, yes I am aware 25 is not old BUT it is the time when I need to start taking care of my skin. I will regret not taking care of it 10-20 years from now. I also like the sun, so I took this year as my last year of using 8 spf and letting my face bake in the sun. I started seeing small wrinkles on my forehead already. The more people I talk to and the more people I watch on Instagram and YouTube I realize how important skin care really is.

I took it upon myself to do some research about skincare and what works best for people with my skin type. I am very dry except for my T zone which is combination. In the summer I get a little oily but all winter I can’t keep enough moisturizer on my face. I bought a bunch of products to try and I tested them out and I have come up with what’s working for my skin and my final skin care routine. I get asked all the time what my routine is, and I have been keeping it somewhat of a secret until I got the secret recipe down. I also want to mention I don’t have acne prone skin but I do get those lovely pimples once in a while, and I also have VERY sensitive skin. I have broken out in hives, rashes, burns, and other crazy things from products. So I need to be very careful with my face products.

Anyway I will stop ranting and tell you guys my skincare routine and what is working for me!

I will start from at night when I take my makeup off…

Step 1: I use the Philosophy Purity Cleansing Gel in the shower, this takes off almost all of my makeup and leaves my face feeling clean.

Step 2: After the cleansing gel I use the Philosophy Microdelivery which is an exfoliating cleanser with tiny beads that leaves your face feeling refreshed and prepped. I only use this every other night because it can be harsh on your skin.

Step 3: Right after I get out of the shower I use the Lancôme Makeup remover to take my remaining mascara off and take off the extra sparkles from my Stila glitter eyeshadow.

Step 4: After my face is totally clean and dry I take the Cane + Austin Miracle Pad 30% Glycolic Facial Treatment and use one all over my face and neck. I swear by this step, this stuff is unbelievable and has done wonders for my skin. It takes away dullness, dark spots, and enlarged pores. It feels just like you went to an anesthetist and got a facial peel.

Step 5: Moisturizer. I have tried about 47564783 moisturizers. Some didn’t do anything, some made my face super oily, some broke me out. After testing I found that my favorite one at the moment is the Watermelon Glow Moisturizer. First off it smells like watermelons, and makes you GLOW. And not in a bad way, a true glow within. The best part is how awesome my skin looks with makeup on. It gives the perfect amount of moister to your skin but not over powering.

Step 6: Laneige Watermelon Lip Sleeping Mask– the best lip treatment on the market. If you all know me you know I hate anything on my lips. I don’t use any lipstick, chap stick, lip gloss, nothing. It drives me nuts and when my hair gets in it you would think the world is ending. So to take care of my lips I use this while I sleep and it is a dream. My lips stay hydrated all day even in the winter.

I hope these products work as well for you as they do for me! They are truly the best, and like I said my skin is such a pain and is very picky with the products it likes. I wouldn’t steer you all in the wrong direction! Let me know what your favorite skin care products are below!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

xx, Em
