Hospital Bag Check List

Being a first time mom and not knowing what to pack for the hospital can be very overwhelming. You don’t want to over pack but you don’t want to forget anything either “just in case”. I did some research while packing my bag and while I 100% overpacked, I’m so glad I brought some of the things I thought I wouldn’t use. The things below are the things I brought and used. The things I over packed on were too many clothes for myself…I stayed in the hospital gown and then PJs the whole time until I left. I also didn’t expect a C Section so I would have brought more sleeper dresses instead of pant & top pajamas. The button down dress I had was from Nordstrom but I ordered 3 of the one below before we got home and I live in them at night! Everyone said I wouldn’t wear PJs at the hospital but I definitely did and being there an extra day I was so happy to have my own to be in!

Things I didn’t have enough of were newborn clothes… I thought he was going to be huge, diapers for me…the hospital had 1 size mesh undies that DID NOT fit, and button down sleeper dress.

I brought the baby book in hopes to put his foot prints right into it but because I had a C Section and was in an operating room I didn’t get the chance to do that but I would still bring it again!

Things I was SO glad to have were my own blanket , pillow, and towels, nipple butter, lip mask, boppy, portable fan, portable noise machine, and my own PJs.

Here is the master list of what I brought for myself:

The hospital provided us with diapers, wipes, swaddle, Vaseline, peri bottle, pads, mesh undies (that didn’t fit), and a mucus bulb.
